Boot Screen Error

I moved my PC today and when i set it down and plugged it back in i can't load up my pc...itshows all the names of my drives and flashes a message that goes too fast for me to read but i caught

Primary no 80 conductor (maybe connector)...

any suggestions...looked inside and i think everythings hooked in and nothings bumped but my screen goes black after the little XP loading screen

Press the pause break key when the message appears, I think its saying something about the 80pin cable on the primary hard drive isnt connected, try reseating the cable in the hard drive and motherboard or trying a new cable.

i knew it had to do with IDE and I'll try that but i fiddled with it last night and nothin helped...

Didn't work...why would it just start doing that out of nowere? its been working for months now...and i bought new IDE cables for it when i built the computer...i guess im gonn\a have to go spend 15 dollars on new ones...

EDIT: the message say "Primary IDE Channel no 80 conductor cable installed"

It reads all 4 of my drives...i dunno whats wrong it says all of em are there when i load up...but ill go get a new cable and try

Are you sure their plugged in to the first ATA slot on your motherboard. That should make it primary.
When the BIOS detects it, are the drives secondary?

buy a new cable it's either that or your harddisk pins are at very poor condition's having plug and unplugged your cable' for so many time's, happened to my h.d it wouldn't post i had to give it a little bit of nodge evrytime it happened

It's alright i found out why7 the computer didn't look like it was laoding...i accidentally unplugged the monitor and it was running through the tv and that error message dopesnt effect the computer its just there...thanks anyways
