3DMark2001 and detonators question???

Hi, I´ve downloaded latest dets v44.03 and they give me 1498 points (the same as v43.45) so then I installed original drivers that came with the GeForce 2 mx400 (det 29.42) and they give me 1507 points. So what should I do??? Install original drivers or leave det 44.03??? I like det 44.03 because of the features of desktop.

I'd stick with newer drivers if only for bugfix reasons.

btw Real-world performance is the one that counts.

The older drivers will prolly work better. As long as they work fine with the programs you use, then there is no reason to use drivers optimised with the GF FX on your GF2.

mmm... In my experience the 30.82 drivers are the best working for this card, but u can get more speed whit 40.72 or 41.xx, as for newer drivers they wont give u any big improve.

You can Try OmegaDrive's optimized drivers (based on detonators)

It's a difference of NINE POINTS. I don't think you need to worry too much about it. If nine points out of 1500 is causing you to lose sleep, you could run the tests and then look on madonion's website to compare the tests and see exactly where one test is falling behind the other.

Really tho for 9 points it's really just margin-for-error.. Your OS could have doen some background process and caused that kind of minor difference. I would just use the newer drivers.

S.SubZero is right. If you want more accurate results run the tests 10 times each. (seriously, use whichever drivers you like best if you're not a total speed-freek). My geForce 2 MX 400 gets 5598 points (on lowest rez with the worst possible settings )

If you're really desperate for higher scores, get a new card.
The gf2mx400 maxes out somewhere round there, so doesn't really matter which dets you use. But I would stick to the newer ones

I´ve tried 30.82 (1483 points?!?) and they are worse than 29.42 ones. Now I installed the 44.03 but I still got 1498... I won´t worry about 9 points so...

What about OMEGA drivers???
Are they reliable???

for me 3d mark2001 doesn't really matter that much, if the game run fast and stable although the score drops 200 point, I don't care, I usually use 3d mark only for benchmarking it's stability.

yup, they are an enhanced version of the normal ATI/nVIDIA drivers, for nVIDIA's drivers it has an option to get performance or quality whit ur card which is very good ^^

I like em a lot

lots of people in here use em ^^
