Check the site of the adapter you will be using. There are two well-known products:
- Upgradeware Slot-T: http://www.upgradeware.com/english/p...t-t/slot-t.htm - Powerleap PL/iP3-T: http://www.powerleap.com As you can see from their sites, both show compatibility for the Asus P3C-E on their databases. I bought the Upgradeware, but the Celeron 1.4 came with a HSF that was so large it was simply impossible to fit on any Slot-1 adapter. If you want to find your own HSF replacement (like I did), go for the Upgradeware. The Powerleap kit comes with a slim HSF that would surely fit, but costs a little more than the Upgradeware and a fairly priced HSF. Don't get the Powerleap that has the CPU already installed tho, because it's ridiculously overpriced. If you're smart enough to ask here, you're smart enough to buy and install the CPU on the adapter yourself. And if you're thinking of some no name product... don't. Most, if not all, are for FCPGA only, with no support for Tualatin CPU. So beware.

Hi!
i'm just wondering, is it worth it to buy an adapter, considering the price of the adapter and new CPU and the performance gain, than trading the old board with a new board and CPU? coz i'm stuck with my slot1 mobo well...

It all depends on how much you get for the trade-in.
I made my upgrade because there are just way too many people trying to sell similar systems on the local 2nd hand market. So if someone is willing to buy your system for a reasonable price, definitely sell it. And then get yourself a low end P4 instead. It shouldn't cost too much more than an upgrade. If on the other hand, your system is worth close to nothing locally(after deducting stuff like the RAM, HD, and whatnot), then the upgrade is a cheap way to get you running for a while.
