Unhappy GeForce2 MX 200 - Fried (maybe)

A couple days ago I dropped an empty tin can in my case by accident, and it hit my videocard. The system wouldn't boot so I took out everything that conducted electricity (hw, jumpers, etc) and waited for a bit then put it all back in and voi-la. Even the gf2 "works". Whenever I run any game (even 2d, such as Zsnes), it would freeze shortly after I started playing. I thought it was my CPU because it has a microscopic little break on the edge, so that got me worried. I took out my gf2, turned on my prosavageddr. When my system booted I ran Oni, Zsnes, UT2k3 (yep, ut2k3 even runs well on this pos ), for some time and they run fine. Even the 2D output is quite a bit better.

Well, you lose some, you get some I suppose.

edit: hopefully after showing my parents how bad jabo's plugin looks on this, they'll be sympathetic and get my a gf4 ti 4600.

No dont. Pry the heatsink off, then try that. Someday that piece of aluminum might just come in usefull.
Well even if the card absolutely, possitively hangs everytime, I'd still keep it for 2d applications and experiments.

Well I guess I should post some shots of it in action. It's by far the most stable and feature rich (as in OGL support up the wizzaz ) S3 card I've ever seen.

Sampah: The GF2 MX 200 is quite a bit more powerful.

I put my gf2 back in last night and didn't screw it in its slot, and it works perfectly for some strange reason.

I experienced something similar. My old sound card, a Live value didnt work after a fan fell on it. I got myself an Audigy and then installed my old card on my cousin's rig(I double checked on my old rig too) and it worked so smoothly I was worried it might slip off the PCI slot. What the heck, atleast I didnt buy the same card.
Conclusion: Silicon has self-healing properties.

Theory's something for those who don't understand practical...

Meaning - If one doesn't know how to do the practical part, they read the theory
