First GeForceFX review?
It's in german and you have to run it through babelfish, but it does have a lot of benchmarks. Personally to me something seems a bit wrong with this review, and I think it's best to wait for the reviews from the major sites like anand, tom, etc.

hmm.. according to the benchmarks, the GF FX is not much faster than the Radeon 9700 Pro..
I agree that these benchmarks are not authentic

The GeForce FX is still a month away from release. It's too early for any authentic benchmarks on it. I don't expect the GeForce FX to pull off any miracles though. It has awesome fill rate compared to the Radeon 9700 Pro but doesn't have as high a memory bandwidth. It should be faster but not by a whole lot. It's not the R300 that Nvidia should be worried about though, but the upcoming R350. ATI's being very tight-lipped about it and I feel they may have something big planned for it. The R350 had taped out late last year and they should have received their first working silicon by now.

The r350 isn't a big secret, They plan on pulling 400 mhz with it and bigger memory. The architecture of the chip is not changing any actually. Not like ther nv20 to nv25, Or the r200 to the r300. It's basically a faster clocked chip with more memory. The r400 is what will be interesting. It's supposively prepared for the latest OpenGL extension being released ect. But of course the r300 and nv30 are the fastest on the market. Nvidia is just producing the Nv30 chip now. It's ready for release. I'm sure they are taping out the Nv35 as well. Which should have 256 bit DDR memory. |

Well, the NDA is supposed to come off within the next 24 hours, so we will find out soon if these numbers are legit (if they are then it is a disapointment). The GeForceFX isn't that far off, if you preorder it you can get it in February. But it won't be widely available or available in retail until March.

heh. Remember the launch of the Voodoo 5? Slated as far too little too late. It seems apt that the first combination pruduct with 3dfx engineers should go the same route.

Another review. It is faster than a Radeon 9700., But not in FSAA or AF, AND the The RGMS Anti aliasing technique on the Radeon 9700 is superior IMO. Demigod must be loving this ^^ P.S. btw the card is fine. It's FSAA is better than The Radeons. But the quality is slightly less. 8xS and 6xS don't do much in the ways of performance. I knew there was no way for Nvidia to pull these mods off at low performance loss. Another note is that AF hasn't been improved nearly as much as I would liked it to have.l And it is what is killing the Geforce FX's performance Last edited by ChrisRay; January 27th, 2003 at 08:49. |

Hmm Toms hardware review is showing a different story.
It's showing the GeforceFX trouncing the ATi Radeon 9700 Pro in most benches. KILLER. was there any need to make another thread? ^^ Overall I'd actually say the results are pretty satisfying for non mature drivers. And I consider tomshardware one of the most credible sites there is. Also the Geforce FX 5800 (Non Ultra) will actually retail for 299 Dollars. Very well put up against the Radeon 9700 Non pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() P.S Sorry that they did not initially go up. I had to upload em to my server. Btw these aren't even half the benchmarks. He tests in a buncha CPU limitated situations as well Last edited by ChrisRay; January 27th, 2003 at 09:14. |

LOL. And that's a 5 month old its competating with!
Had it been not offensive to do so Im sure that their final words would have been "Screw NVidia. Stick with ATI." edit: downloaded the video from AnandTech and it sounds something like a Volcano7+ on high speed setting. Geez. Last edited by Hanamichi; January 27th, 2003 at 09:33. |

Hmm HardOCP also shows the Geforce FX trouncing the Radeon 9700,
My defintion of trounce is a steady 10% lead btw ^^ I'm not seeing Nvidia hurting. Expecially with the Geforce FX 5800 Non Ultra being 299 Dollars. And stacking up against the Radeon 9700 Non Pro |
