Unhappy help new mobo!!!

Im trying to build a 2nd rig and i boughtt a really cheap motherboard, I assembled the rest of the parts using old hardwares i have. Problem is im getting lock up's and random resets and some of my programs will just randomly close with no reason.

system specs:
amk7t-ultra
256 sdram spectek
4.5 gig fujitsu and a jts 3 gig something
700 duron
sblive value
telepipe 56k modem
ecs 200 xabre

I was told it might be the videocard, so i tried an old tnt vanta 16 mb agp and still got ****ed up's.

No hardware conflicts wahtsoever, i made a clean install of winxp, perfectly went well.

Now im getting really depressed, i prorbably should buy another mobo, unless you guys are kind enough to give a suggestion and save me some time and money.

Just make sure everything is plugged in tightly, and make sure you have a surge protector powerbar

I reccon an Ide cable may have come loose, and check your bios over too.

Betcha dollars to peso's its your power Supply. And it's to weak to handle the new chips/Motherboard/ Ect

Lockups are either caused by 3 three things.

Memory, Overheating, And Power Supply,

Resets are caused by Overheating, Powersupply, And DMA failures.

try to ensure that correct voltage is supplied to your rig.

Whats your Core tempature? have you tried disabling Direct Memory Access in the Bios and Windows Drivers.

Last thing to check is the Memory, Then believe it or not. its possible your CPUS l2 Cache is faulty.

If its not that. It's the Motherboards memory controllers. So it could be any number of given thing, I am trying to reccomend the cheapest route to troubleshooting.

Done flashing the bios, It's now amd-xp compatible. I'll try disabling the dma controllers, the cpu is not at fault at here although it could've been when i inserted my volcano9, ill try and swap my xp2000 from my other rig and see what happens.

cpu temp: 26'c idle 28'load

disabling dma didnt work changing my cpu didnt either, after 3 days of searching the web for memory dump error, i finally found a remedy ,microsoft has a patch for winxp user's that'll cause certain systems to reset after a fatal error, I downloaded the file and it did work although my program still crashes at least now it wont automatically reboot my system, it'll just prompt me if i want to send the error or not to microsofts database, Im halfway finished on stabilizing my system , all i need to do now is figure out why a lot of my programs closes for no reason.

If you guys are having memory dump issue's download the filename Q317277_WXP_SP1_x86_ENU from microsoft.

That file you got is part of what's included in Winxp SP1. You should download the whole Service PAck 1 if you can. It could help you with more problems.

Get Sp1 here
