GBA region compatibility

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I could play gba games on a gba from a different region (eg. playing ntsc games on a pal gba). The reason for this question is that I will be taking a trip to China, which means I will be able to buy electronics much cheaper, and I wanted to get one of those new gameboy advance SP's.<BR>

GBA SPs aren't out yet. However, you will be happy to hear that GBA games contain no region coding. They require no modding to play games from any region.

Thanks for the Nfo, Ninja. I'm pretty sure that ps2 games/consoles have region coding. Is there anyway to play different region ps2 games (eg. some sort of boot-up disc)?

Get a mod-chip?

I know that such a thing exists for PS1 for playing different region (and burned) games.

What you are looking for is a mod chip or freeloader. Mod chips allow you to play games from any region, as well as backups. A freeloader is a disc that you put in at boot, then switch to your disc from another region shortly after.

I can't wait until the freeloader comes out for GameCube. I might just start importing stuff.

a "freeloader" will not work on a non-modified ps2 without a swap trick. however, i have heard that they do work with dvd movies..

i have a jap gba and play us and eur game fine on it. afaik, there is no NTSC/PAL difference on gba.

My apologies then. The freeloader for GameCube does play games from other regions, so I assumed it worked the same way on the PS2.
