GF 4MX 460 & GF 4 Ti 4200
What are the differences between GF 4MX 460 & GF 4 Ti 4200?
They both have the same Bandwidth, is it just that Anti-Aliasing is better on the Ti card?

There are primarily two differences. First, the GeForce 4 Ti 4200 has double the rendering pipelines and thus, has twice the fill rate capabilities. Second, the GeForce 4 MX 460 lacks any DX8 features such as programmable vertex and pixel shaders (nVidia's nFiniteFX engine). The former will have more of an impact on games than the latter, although pixel shaders will be an important feature to have for future games.

I see, so an mx460 may have more bandwidth than the Ti4200, but Ti4200 is still faster because it mx460 doesnt have DX8 features that will be used in future games?

No, it's faster because it has better fill rate capabilities.

Geforce4 MX 460 is faster? well true enough(not that fast actually, Geforce4 ti4200 is faster just look at the fill rate, the triangles per second) but sadly it doesn't have any directx8 support although fast, you still cannot play or use it in the future when all games already use directx8

yeah, me too sadly it don't have directx8 support, that's mean I have to buy a new Graphics card again when all games are using directx8

I highly recommened the Ti 4200. I bought the Visiontek 128mb version of the card last May, and have been happy with it ever since. It's relatively cheap compared to other performance cards, and will last for at least a few years. Also, it overclocks quite nicely, I have a stable OC @ 285 Mhz Core frequency and 525 Mhz RAM frequency, without any hardware add-ons. Though if you want this card cheaper, I suggest you wait a little while for the GeForce FX cards to come out, then get it.

The GeForce 3 Ti 200 has better fill rate capabilities. It has 4 rendering pipelines while the GeForce 4 MX only has 2.

Rendering pipelines affect multi texturing and fill rate for things like Full Screen Anti Aliasing. Any game that requires multi texture (basically any game nowaday) is gonna be burned by a GPU with more pipelines and the higher fill rate. |

But some of my friends using ASUS Geforce4 MX440, when tested using quake3, it is more faster than Geforce3 ti200.

BTW, under 1024X768/32bit/85Hz gf3ti200 gets 157.5 fps and gf4mx440 gets 148.2 fps. So the gf3 is actually faster, although you won't notice the difference.
