That's a Slot A proc if I'm not mistaken. Those types are a pain to overclock.

What will you do? You will be going out to the hardware shop for a new rig.
Seriously, you should not be overclocking the slot type AMD's. IIRC Demigod or someone did say that the heatsink doesnt cover a few chips that might get too hot and burnt if overclocked for the slot type of proccessors.

i have a Socket A, and overclocking hasn't given me any problems. you need to adjust the FSB in the BIOS. increase it only by a few MHz at a time, and be sure to check the temperatures after every increase. also, run 3dmark for a few times to test stability (or CPUBurn for 5 hours if you _really_ want to test stability). if the computer becomes unstable (crash back to desktop, black screen, reboot, whatever), either decrease the FSB, or raise the core voltage _BY LITTLE_. increasing voltage ups temperature a lot, which is the #1 way to frying your CPU. be careful, and have fun ^_^

we have the same mobo! but mine's a version 3 so it supports athlon XP's.

try the pencil trick to unlock the multipliers then overclock it in the bios/jumpers and be sure to add more voltage to it. hope that it doesn't burn out though....

Yeah, as it's using the Northwood core the Celeron 2.0 Ghz can reach very high speeds. A testament to the HUGE speed potential of the P4. The Pentium 4 Northwood 2.0A should be able to do the same and I'm planning on doing it someday.

for your system it's 100 x 7.5 (this is the multiplier) = 750 right?

so if you unlocked the multipliers by connecting all the L1 bridges, you could overclock it using your mobo's bios.

example:

L1 o o o o o o
> o o o o o o

the link Esturk17 posted says it all!

I have an 800mhz amd... I safely overclocked it to 856mhz with no extra cooling... but anything over that and the batard refuses to work at all... but that's okay I can't tell any real difference in any of my programs with it... Also if you plan on overclocking just make sure to watch everything you do... if certain intensive programs start locking up lower it down a little bit... let the pc cool down... then try again... don't blow up you're pc is the best advice you can get (note: just having it lockup once or twice during testing doesn't mean you're proc is screwed over... at least not yet ^_^)

my CPU is overclocked 150MHz, and is stable as a rock. don't increase the voltage unless you _really_ need to.
