Talking New system (if only...)

Let's say that if you have a very powerful system likes :

Dual Intel Pentium 4 3.06 Ghz
3 - 4 Gb RDRAM
4x 120 GB HDD 10,000 Rpm on raid 0
Audigy 2 SB
40 inch monitor
Geforce FX or higher

After running some 3d mark 2xxx, guess what would the score be?

Umm... a freakin high number?? I heard WinXP can't run faster than 1,7 GHz... I thought this to be a major stupidity, can anyone confirm it?

3DMark isn't Dual processor optimised. Neither are pretty much any games out there.

More than 384Mb RAM you don't notice much if any difference in any app, let alone 3DMark.

Faster HDD will have little or no effect in games/ 3DMark. 160Gbs is just about enough for me anyway. RAID 5 is much better anyway. If one drive fails, the RAID will still survive.

Won't increase the score at all. No need unless you have a 6.1 sound system. 5.1 is more than adequete.

Not gonna effect scores..... Although it would be nice.

Geforce FX or higher
So I'm gonna have some vapourware in my machine then. IT'S NOT OUT YET!

XP runs with CPUs well over 1.7 Ghz. I don't know where you got that information.

Re: New system (if only...)

the "Dual Intel Pentium 4 3.06 Ghz" is vaporware too, so I'd say the machine would get 0, cuz it wouldn't be able to function on vapor

Eh? What do you mean? Do you mean the processor or the dual-CPU setup?
