Highly unlikely it will do anything for current games.

Can someone please tell me coz I always need a new DX that ever release. (now i'm stick with DX8.1, love'em)
Direct X 9 is still under devolpement. Some beta versions of it has been released, but so far, the official version didnt come up yet. It really depends on the amount of work put into it. if Microsoft imporves Direct X alot and Add "revolutionary" options to it, then i would say that 3D cards with DX 9 support would have the more power over DX 8 3D card. however, the cards you have mentioned here ( Geforce II,III and IV ) are not DX 9 compatible, so DX 9 wont probably show a great effect on these cards......

Until Direct X 9 is released, we cannot judge on its compability with Geforce 4 or any other DX 8 card, but its most likely....

>Same here,just use what i have

what do you have?

>Totally off topic, but I dont want to start a new thread about graphic cards just to ask this simple question. Will I experience worthwhile improvements if I get a 64MB Geforce4 MX440? Im currently using a 32MB Geforce2MX200. Im considering getting one since my friend is selling a brand new GF4MX440 for $52+my old GF2, as he already has a Ti4200 but accidentally bought another MX when buying a new pc. Should I go for it, or should I save up some more and get a Ti4200/4400/4600 like a month later? I've also heard unconfirmed news from dealers that there will be a major price drop on graphic cards during next month.

if you want buy his MX go ahead, the price is maybe little for high for a used gf4 MX, but if you like it, by all means. If you want upgrade to gf4 ti later, sell me your MX .

DX9 won't do anything for older games, as they're not DX9 compliant. DX updates don't usually speed up gaming, rather they add more features. Any benefits of DX9 will only be felt when using DX9 cards using DX9 applications.

dogulation000, I installed Rage3D Tweak today. I must say I am impressed. It is like Riva Tuner only for ATI cards. Thaks so much for the link this utility is just what i was looking for.
Hanamichi, you do recall correctly. The GF4 TI 4600 was a gift for my birthday. It was a gift from me to me. I consider the Radeon 9700 pro as an early Christmas present.
sincerely,

gf3ti200 it's still ok for this time, i think. You can wait about 4 or 5 month to get a new one.

What's wrong with it? You must have just spent a good few hundred on it!

What's the matter with it? You have my dream video card, so I am just kind of curious.
