I'm sure there are other benefits of AGP 8x then just a few FPS.

Well...now I think about it, buy! Buy the card! And everything else! Not because it's faster (which it certainly is) nor because it's new, but because we need to spend to get the economy back. So.......buy!

Thanks for the reply Kingstar. You made some very good points. Demigod, I still have not ruled out the 9700 pro. I may get it and try it. If I like it, I'd keep it, if not, I can always return it. I say this because actually trying out the card seems to be the only way that I can truly judge it's performance as opposed to my TI 4600. sincerely, sx/amiga |

Well just so everone knows, I picked up the 9700 pro today and installed it this evening. I've already noticed some differences in clarity on my Desktop over the the TI 4600. My web pages seem to load faster too. Tomorrow I'll really put it "through it's paces" with some games testing. I'll let everyone know how it does. BTW, I also got my Sony Viao Laptop today as well. I'll be testing that one tomorrow as well. sincerely, sx/amiga |

Y'all seem to have some extra cash lying around.......care to donate some? Anyways, spending is good, it will help the economy. If I got extra cash I'd buy stuff as well. But I don't

Thanks Demigod, I'll do that. I'll let you know how it turns out. Ali, sure I wouldn't mind, where can I find 3DmarkSE to download, I've never used it before. As for the cost, my card is OEM in a white box, so I only paid $299 US dollars for it. Normally they run about $399 to $450 (US Dollars) while the TI 4600 goes anywhere from $250 to $399. Even though it is OEM, I got everything but the quick start manual with it. sincerely, sx/amiga |

You can download 3DMark2001 SE @ www.madonion.com I would also like to see the mark you'd get with that card. It should be well above the 10K mark.

Yeah pretty well over 10K, dunno where but I read somewhere, that 3dmarkse doesn't measure all aspects of new Radeon, thats why the score it gives is misleading. But it is higher then Geforce 4 TI4600 Ali

Well 3DMark 2k1 is a DX 8 benchmark, not a Dx 9 benchmark

yeah that's right and I'm sure the score in not truly for the radeon. Wait till the DX9 released and see how far the Ati Radeon 9700 can do compare to nv30.
