We might believe you if you said there is a 20Ghz chip in development by Intel, but Pentium 14 is just so weird and... no offense, sounds stupid. I mean, using a old name for 14 generations isnt really something a company like Intel would do.

Although Square would. They've used the same Final Fantasy name for 10 generations. Kinda strange when you consider the name Final Fantasy. I mean how many Final Fantasies are there? (I know the origin of the name but it still seems awkward)

Well, it does sound reasonable that Intel would have better technology that they won't show since what they give now is selling alright for them. Remember when the race between AMD and Intel, in those days Intel released newer technologies much faster than they do now, no?

If u're talking to me then I asure u that u were sleeping in that time not to notice the race. Only when AMD backed off and Celeron improved did Intel go back to the slow pace again. If u weren't taking to me than...opps

The XEON processors are just normal x86 CPUs with a large L2 cache (and sometimes L3 cache as well). They're not clocked any higher and don't have any other features. The P4 XEONs have hyper-threading enabled but we'll get that with the next P4 release (3.06 Ghz).

3Ghz.... Most games need less than 1Ghz for optimul performance. I really wanted to buy a GeForce TI4600 today at Electronics Boutique but it was $599 dollars! I don't have that kind of money....

No you havent read the whole thread yet! I said earlier thats what the guys who are making the cpu are calling it leave it to the marketing wing to figure out nicer names. They have a cpu coming out called redwood think it was some time next year which was clocked at i think 3.8 ghz at one time!

Why are the guys making cpu's calling it Pentium? They should be calling it P(prototype)-14, Build-21425, X-14 or something more..."proffesional"
Anyhow, DUVL technology has almost come to its limits. If Intel had really made a 10Ghz they've done it with EUVL(which, as known to public, is still in developmeny)
