4XS does remove jaggies better, but there is a greater performance hit when using 4XS vs regular 4X. So on my GF4 I usually just stick with regular 4X FSAA with most games since the performance is better and 4X still removes jaggies pretty darn good. On really old games or ePSX where performance isn't an issue, 4XS is better though. I wish nVidia would implement 4XS in OpenGL though, since I do prefer Pete's OpenGL driver vs his Direct3D one (not exactly sure why though since I can't really tell the difference between the two when playing .

I perfer 4XS over 4X but I perfer the OGL GPU over the D3D one so I usually end up using 4X FSAA. I agree w/Particleman and would like to see an OGL version of 4XS. When I was using Riva Tuner, I really liked 4X 9 Tap FSAA. But Lord Kane said that he does not think that Riva Tuner works w/the 40.41 drivers, which I am now using. So I'll stay w/4X FSAA for now. BTW I have a GF4 TI 4600 card.

Honestly on my system I have no performance gains from using OpenGL over DX since all my games are limited to 60 FPS. so I generally use 4xS. Which doesn't really provide a performance hit to emulation for me.
And there's really nothing about the OpenGL plugin that makes it visually superior to the DX one. |
