GF3 is better than 4MX as 4MX's don't have vertex and pixel shaders and don't support the added features of DX8. 4MX's are basicaly GF2s wich a rocket up thier a$$es
4Ti's are the best Gf avaliable, like a GF3 on steroids.

The Geforce 3 is an all-around well balanced card, it's faster and is capable of doing more than a GF4MX, but sadly it been forgotten

Liquid, you are right the GF3 TI is an excellent card. But the problem was that the GF4 TI's came out so soon after the GF3 that most people moved to a GF4 and forgot about using a GF3.
Lord Kane, you are correct about the GF4. I have a GF4 TI 4600, which is the top of the line GF card right now, and I am constantly amazed at what the card can do. But wait until the NV30 Debuts.
From what I have heard it will put even my card to shame.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

well,....if you are looking for high quality 3D cards, go for Nvidia G-Force cards,..........if you are looking for speed, then go for G force 4 Ti,..........but what i would recommend, is to hang on for a while until the next generation of 3 D cards come up on asle, i think this will happen after 3-4 months

Why don't you look up the two cards on the net and compare them?

There's a big difference between the MX 420 and MX 440. The former uses SDRAM while the latter uses DDR RAM, meaning the MX 420 only has half the memory bandwidth of the MX 440. There's quite a big difference between the two.

The next generation of 3D cards are already here, namely the Matrox Parhelia and the ATI Radeon 9700, both 512-bit graphics cards with 256 MB of RAM and DirectX 9 compliancy. Nvidia is a bit late this time around and will have their DX 9 card (NV30) available in the upcoming months.

BTW, it's "GeForce". G-Force was a misleading name used on some OEM product.

The Radeon 9000 would be better for gaming. It's a DX 8.1 card while the MX 420 is DX 7.1 and if you know anything about DX 8 architecture and pixel shaders you'd know how significant DX 8 support is. The Radeon 9000 has superior features and is faster as well.
