Question Voodoo 3 3000 agp vs va-503+ chipset HELP!

As most of you guys know my gf2mx400 is dead After a month using a crappy 2mb pci card I've borrowed a V3 3k agp from a friend After uninstalling the old drivers I've set up the card, installed the card drivers, the via 4in1 drivers but, after rebooting the system locked-up just after the desktop showed up
Sometimes the desktop doesn't even appear, just a black screen

What should I do?

Try starting the machine in safe mode and see if it detects the card or if anything else happens. Make sure the card is listed in device manager and there are now confilcts. You could also try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver in safe mode.

Hmmm....Is it hot in the room? that could make the vid card overheat......also, try a different driver if you can find one. Plus, you should make sure your AGP chip driver is up to date, check with your motherboard manufacturer. I know this is can be an issue with VIA chipsets and probably others...

I've already re-installed windows, installed the latest 4-in-1s, the latest vodoo drivers and nothing seem to work
There are no colorful lines on my mouse screen or anything else, everything seems just fine, except for the constant lock-ups

I've noticed that my card clock is 183Mhz. From what I've read, the v3 3k clock is 166mhz and the v3 3500 clock is 183mhz. Hope if it can help...

Still waiting for suggestions

After installing some tweakers the system is stable. I can connect to the internet and perform various tasks without locking-up. The fire test will be with games

Cool new video card, new plug-in Lewpy, here I go!

If you have a MVP3 chipset you shouldn't use the latest Via 4 in 1 drivers. Use the older ones.

Thanks. Yup, built it about a month ago. It rocks . I built it pretty much so i could run Dungeon Siege at respectable FPS and it does that easily .
