you can replace the vga connector for a new one if you have a little electronics knowledge, or ask fivefeet8, he replaced one of his monitor's pins

Or if you're not handy enough, take it to your local repair centre and be prepared to be ripped off by greedy techs. Sorry, but life's just like that.

You better ask fivefeet8 how he did it.

This probably doesn't help much but I have an Acerview 56L. An old but decent monitor. If I could spare it I would send you mine.

One pin is broken? If i remember reading right... In one thread, i dont remember who, but he was missing a pin and he replaced it with part of a staple. I think he said he cutted the staple to the good length and glued it a little. Aniway i wouldnt do it but he said his monitor is ok now. ill try to find the thread.

edit : found the thread http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthre...threadid=22306

It was a legitimate comment. Hardware is easy to tinker with but monitors i find are hard if not impoosble to mess with on the hardware level and needs to be taken to the store to be repaired.

You may not like me, but along with the humor..i did give MY advice..."take it to the store"

GuardianAli is right if your monitor is "burned" out take it to a repair store, do not try to fix these things yourself if you do not have the knowledge to do so, you can seriously cause more damage to the monitor and possibly harm yourself in the process.

not to mention may potentially make the problem worse and cause it from being repariable at a sore for 50 .into a non repariable problem and then shell out 200 bucks for a new one.

I see many monitors with missing pins (at least the ones I install in the hospital) and everything turned out fine. But they are Compaq monitors

Umm...for a missing pin, there is NO danger of screwing something up that will damage the screen. You'd either have to hit the VSYNC or HSYNC pin with a seriously freaky oscillating signal or apply a large amount of current (Don't do this in data cables). The worst thing that can happen is you'll need to buy a new cable and open the case to solder it in (~$20). This isn't exactly a high-powered area here
