Detonator Driver (Which version is best?)

The latest ones are not supposed to be the fastest according to sources. Which ones are tested and the fastest for GeForce 2?

Yup, cooliscool is right, the 28.32 Detonators are, pretty much, the top of the line drivers for the GF2. After those, the drivers are aimed more at the GF3 and GF4 cards.

Im using 29.42 right now, I upgraded those from 28.32, didn't lost even a simple fps, work very good.

though with an old gf2..id worry about how the little mouse in the drum making it run is doing...gotta be old by now.

Hey, www.nvplanet.com has the beta 30.30 detonator drivers. That is what I am using now and they seem to work great for me.

I'm using 29.42 also. I notice a bug where the computer freezes from closing the rundll32 that nview uses

Hey, Slim I had the same problem until I downloaded the 30.30 drivers from the link I posted above. You might try them they may fix your problem.

ShadySaiyan, you have a GF4 MX while Zinc has a GF2. Even though the GF4 MX is only a little bit above the GF2, it will make better use of the 30.30 Detonators than the GF 2 will. The best Detonators for GF2 are the 28.32 WHQL certified. The 29.42 WHQL may work all right for some, but for others they do not. The safest bet is to stick w/the 29.32s.

GuardianAli, the GF2 is still a very viable card and still gives excellent results. "They all work ok now", what are they and what do they work ok with? The Detonators, which Detonators and with which card? Not all Detonators work well w/all Nvidia cards. Though all Nvidia cards are compatable w/all of the Detonators.
GuardianAli, you are really starting to annoy me, not just here, but in other posts of yours that I have seen. I'd seriously watch it, if I were you.

Jeebus sx/amiga .. why so harsh to him? If anything under your standards, your attitude and your threats might be ban worthy. Maybe instead of getting mad at others and banning them, you should take a break, or 10 temp ban .. either way works for all of us.

hehe don't worry about GuardianAli, he's just a friend of mine from work...he's an alright guy but kinda sarcastic. But he is pretty much on the money when it comes to hardware type questions, that's what makes him one of our top hardware gurus

I hope he isn't banned for too long.

Dets 30.30 here on my GF2 Pro, a bit slower than the 28.32, but a much better image quality

You can find very Usefull information about the Dets. drivers perfs at:

It clearly mean that dets. 23.11 and 23.12 are the best ones......

I installed dets 23.11 and I got a 450 pts gain in 3Dmark !!!!.... on my GF2 MX 400

BTW I have just one screensot left of the benchs: Take a look..

The meaning of this graph is the fps in OpenGL in QuakeGL per kind of driver.

The thing is what Nvidia considers "beta" is still much better then most other companies "final" code.

So dont just look at the beta and be scared. Try it. If you dont like iut you can always uninstall.
