decent vid/card for decent price?

ummm, i've been hearing a lot about how your video card's performance reflect your emulation performance, and i was wondering, that is, does anyone know of a decent vid/card that is good enough to emulate, and also a decent price tag. something under $100? and how much is a geforce 2 right now? and if possible can you tell me where to get it? (nothing with buying online, my folks doesnt trust me with their credit card, lol). for example, has anyone been to fry's electronic store lately? have you seen any good deals on a decent vid/card? please inform me if you have, arigatou gozaimasu! (if you want, my aol sn is "bluecali916").

emurocks, where abouts in California do you live? I live in the city of North Highlands, which is a suburb of Sacramento. There is a Fry's Electronics on Northgate Blvd. which is just a little ways down the freeway from me. They regularly carry GF2 mx cards for around $50, just like Bgnome said. GF2s (not the mx) are usually on sale for anywhere from $89 to $139 dollars. Fry's, if you are near one would be your best bet for a GF2 card at a decent price.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

I got my geforce2 MX400 64DDR for only 30 bucks at Fry's. I actually only paid 20 bucks for it with the mail in rebate. Pretty good deal if I say so myself.

GuardianAli supporting a Nvidia card? I'll never let you live this down you know

btw if you can stand using D3D, then a Radeon 8500 will work just fine. Also Radeon 8500's are cheaper than a GF3ti 500, offer better TVout...and I'll let GuardianAli finish this...after all he does own one

hahaha

veeery true. In most cases I LOVE my 8500 all in wonder...
but some things to go the way of nvidia is easier. didnt say BETTER ..i said easier lol

takes a little more tweking to get the radeons to work properly sometimes.but the end results are worth it ...specially since their 2d is soo much better then older gf2 cards and thus help with the quuality of the way sprites look.
