Too bad you didn't get a GeForce 4 Ti, MX models are as great as Ti ones, they are just GeForce 2s basically.

You are not missing out on much. I would like to see *good* games that support it. Currently they don't exist....

At the moment, the Pixel Shaders are not implemented in many games (very few games use them). But in the future probably many games will start using it, and then you'll have some problems. For the time being, you're not missing much.

hmm...Unreal Tournament 2 will use pixel shaders (once it comes out) anandtech ran some benchmarks and the GF4MX scored well but was not as fast as a geforce 3 (which has pixel shaders).

The ones that spajdr mentioned are all great looking and playing games, there is also a special/patched version of Giants that use Pixel Shaders. Oh yes and Commanche 4 also uses pixel shaders. The games that use pixel shaders look great, it's that use It's just unfortunate that the number of games that use these features can be counted using your fingers. But slowly but surely we are seeing more and more games use them.

doesnt tekken 3 have pixel shading or is it a form of transparency (take Yoshimitsu's green sword for instance...use kazzuya's soft gpu 1.3 and it does something)

No PS1 games use any sort of pixel shaders (that applies to emulators as well), so no Tekken 2 does not use pixel shaders.

Transparency effects have nothing to do with pixel shading. Pixel Shaders are used to give textures different types of effects such as bumps, metalic surfaces, etc. Mainly dealing with surfaces.

They use something called the "Alpha channel". If, for example, the playstation was running in a 16-bit color mode, then usually the first 15-bits describe the color being displayed, and then the last bit, which can be refered to as the "Alpha channel", describes the amount of transperancy that is then applied to the color, if any is needed.

For more info, try searching around for the term "Alpha Transparency".

I don't know about Neverwinter Nights, but Aquanox and Morrowind don't work with Ge-force 4's (at least with me). And Aquanox came in the damn box!
