Advice about "used" laptop/notebook !

One big thing to check out is the Notebook battery. Don't expect to get much from a used battery, but if you get at least 2 hours out of it, you are very lucky. Check out the hard drive, 3 1/2, and Cd-Rom to see if they work.

the most important is to buy 2nd hand laptop is from a source that you know is not from black market, coz laptop got unique id, so they can trace you down if you got a stolen 1,
another thing is to had warranty for the hard drive, coz hard drive do start to break down after 3yr,
check the screen color to make sure no dead pixel *if they do you could get alot cheaper coz there is no replacement, you could buy another case with the lcd, but then it will cost you about the same to buy another 1 *

Check the edges and corners for scratches and damages; this could indicate that the notebook fell to the ground, so even if everything works ok right now, it can be in bad order.

my laptop is 4 years old and pretty dinged up. but it still runs pretty smooth. i would suggest that you definitely try before you buy if you can. there are tons of little things that dont quite work right on my laptop and you may miss that if you only give it a quick once-over.

also check if the LCD is not damage or having problem iwith its color setting. Also feel the keyboard if the buttons are worn out. check the port connection too.
