RAM Related - Dimm > DDR

I am just wondering if i can use my PC100 ram on a DDR specification motherboard without messing about with too many settings ? nobody i asked seemed to have an answer to this question, but if i can use it, then my system upgrade will be just around the corner

Most times you can't. Most new DDR mobos doesn't support both DDR and SDR(some old ones have both kind of slots). SDR dimms are not compatible with DDR dimm slots.

As far as I recall; they won't fit. The gaps in the slot are set up different so that you cant put in the wrong memory.

Lord Kane is right, DDR slots are keyed differently to SDR slots. While you can get motherboards with both DDR and SDR slots, you won't be able to run both types of ram at the same time.
