Perhaps you have disabled USB in the BIOS. Do you have a PS2 keyboard to try? Or you can alway's clear the CMOS battery by setting a jumper on the mobo.

Every time you boot up? Try replacing the battery on your mobo.

No, he said it's a ps2 keyboard. Clear the bios again, and replace the battery is all I can suggest.
Actualy, you could try using another keyb from somewhere, just to test that your keyb is not naffed.

Beep continuously? That's trying to tell you something. I suggest you first remove the usb ports you added, and if that doesn't work, consult you manual or the mainboard mfg for what the beepcode means. They seem to vary board to board.

Erm I think there's some slight miscommunication here. It isn't a keyboard for a Playstaion 2, it actually is a pc keyboard. "Ps2" also refers to the small round sockets on the back of you pc into which a mouse or keyboard can be plugged in. Other types of keyboard are usb and DIN (IIRC).

Ps2 keyboard
Yes the old conector was called DIN, and the ps/2 conector is also refered as mini-din.
What may be happening with his keyboard is some incompatibility with irqs (irq 12 is used for that keyboard, iirc), so remove the extra usb ports and see if the keyboard gets back on, or you can try using another keyboard (just a weird though that wouldn't hurt)...

one of my friends who had a usb keyboard needed to use a ps/2 keyboard to intall windows. after windows was running he switched to his usb and it worked fine.

beep codes are bad news. usually indicate a ram problem or something not seated properly. make sure your dimms and the rest of your hardware is securely in. also it might help to try different hardware configs to see what devices are causeing problems. you could have a irq sharing conflict.

are sure you didnt plug your keyboard into your mouse port?

Ok. Next thing to try is to check to see if the keyboard is broken. Borrow a keyboard from somewhere and see if it works. If not the bleep code may be indicating that the keyboard controller is busted (new mobo required in that case)

Oh, I though you had installed a physical usb adapter...
If the keyb controler is busted as betamax said, then try an usb keyboard, if that does not work, you're in trouble...
