GeForce 2 Overclocking

I remember this one guy who overclocked his Geforce 2 ti 500 and said his specs were better then geforce 3. Is it true? And If I put on my old Geforce 2 back on and overclock it how good will it get? Close to a geforce 3?

GeForce 3s are not known for their high clock speeds so it is actually rather easy to clock a gf2 to match them. What the gf3 is for is providing extra features that the gf2 does not have.

Matching a GF3 with an overclocked GF2????
I don't think so,a friend of mine as an original GF3 with an 1GHz Athlon, and he gets better frame rates in every 3D apps.

But if you take a look at their actual clock speeds it is possible to match those. Match their performance? Probably not. It isn't all about clock speeds after all. I'd pull up the details but I have to run to class sorry.

Sorry,I had misunderstood your first post,I thought you were saying that it was possible to match a GF3 by overclocking a GF2.
But,if you want to match the clock speeds, take a GF2 Ultra,it has higher clock speeds than a GF3.

... not to mention the Radeon 8500, which also runs at higher specs than the GeForce 3 Ti 500, yet is slower in most benchmarks. Just like CPUs, higher clock speeds aren't everything.
