Can Sega Genesis power supplies be used on Sega Game Gear systems?

I have a Sega Game Gear (Sega Drain Gear IMSHO) and I'm not interested in wasting batteries @ 6 batteries every 2 hours. What are my options for decent power supplies?

So long as the Game Gear uses a negative tip and the plug fits, then yes, a Genesis AC adapter will work.
