Geforce 2 mx 200 FSAA Question...

Ok, I can get 4x FSAA on direct x, but I cannot seem to be able to get it on OpenGL, it only goes up to 2x. Is it because my card is an MX or is there something I'm missing altogether here?

It should be able to do 4x. Try getting newer drivers.

Well, I have the 23.11's, and I'll get the 27's when they are official; I dont trust beta drivers.

There is abesolutely nothing wrong with beta drivers... and the reason why your probably having problems with 4X FSAA is probably because your using a Geforce 2 MX 200 (the lowest end geforce). This card is not really suited for doing any type FSAA above 800x600 res.
If you really want 4xFSAA get a Geforce 3 or 4

Well, feature-wise all the GeForce 3 cards are the same. The speed is what differentiates them.

Well, do you guys think I should run it at 800-600 or 640-480 with some FSAA, and which det's do you think I should use when I run it? Also, since I don't have any money, do you think I should look into overclocking the card a little bit, and if I do, what can I do to cool it without having to buy anything?

The card doesn't have the bandwidth to adequetely do 4xFSAA. I hardly run it at all on mine, but now they fixed it in the 27.xx drivers, It might be worth using 2xFSAA on yours.

I might give 2x another try, but last time I did it, it was extremely SLOW, do the new 27.xx dets help, and like I said earlier, should I OC the memory, and what should I do about cooling?

You really would have to spend some money and get a pci slot cooler, then O/C it a bit. I'm not really into o/c after my v3 got naffed.

I think I have just solved my problem, all I had to do was do a clean install of the beta 27.42 dets and everything works awesome now, I can even do 1024-768 res. in epsxe w/2x antialiasing enabled at 60 fps! Thanks for replying and trying to help me out everyone!
