Slightly off topic Geforce 3 prob

Hmm.. so i just got a 64mb Nvidia made geforce 3... and i have this bizarre problem no matter WHAT i set my refresh rate to i either have a rolling diagonal wave pattern or epileptic seizure causing scanlines. Ive tried using older drivers and what not but if anyone can help here are partial comp specs

Win xp
Athlon 1.2ghz
256mb pc133
15" analog TFT monitor
and the geforce 3.

i just upgraded it about an hour ago from my old tnt2 and besides a helluva improvement in graphics quality, My overall speed is massively slowed down. I'm hoping when i fix this problem that will change and ill just be in graphics bliss.

I've messed with the refresh rate and this helps for a good 5 seconds or until i open another window and the problem kicks up again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you've could buy a Radeon 8500 it is more advanced in graphics than GeForce 3

I had no probs w/ mine, but are you plugging through anything (voodoo card, ps2 vga adaptor...) that can sometimes cause probs.

If that don't help, try and return it.

hmm, it could be your monitor. Someitmes the vid card and the monitor can't sync 100% and you'll get something to that effect. Try going to your monitor manufacturer's website and see if they say anything about timing with nvidia cards. They may have an INF you can d/l to correct it.

P.S.

Geforce 3 owns Radeon 8500

I'd say this is more of a monitor problem rather than a video card problem. Try getting the monitor .INF file as suggested by Viperx... then if that doesn't work try a different monitor.

lets see, right click on desktop, goto properties, select video settings, advanced options I think, then hit your geforce tad, select Additional options, go into Opengl and Direct2d config tabs, can disable it there, that simple
