Dunno? Do you?

Seriously though my LG has won me over to the widescreen side (still gonna take some convincing to to get me to accept 16:9 movies where they can't even fit a full head into a closeup as better than old non-widescreen movies though) and I firmly believe I made the best possible choice when buying it.

Anyways it's not so much bias as it simply is a superior brand...just like ASUS and Gigabyte are the usual names when it comes to mobos (with DFI popping in now and then)....only Samsung manages to stand against LG (at least in the somewhat affordable monitor market...HP and Dell probably make better than both but costing 2-3 times as much dough) just like only Gigabyte stands against ASUS....and with there being a Lottery when it comes to Samsung monitors...then LG is the clear choice.

The following site was invaluable at helping me see the changes some of my games would be going through depending on aspect ratio gamefreak so keep it in mind when making your choice and quite possibly after it as well if you don't want to pay full price for Vert- games.

Since you are pretty much RIGHT in front of the screen, do you really need anything bigger then 19 inch? If that´s too small, then simply move it closer to you. Problem solved, hurray! The best brands i know of when it comes to computer screens, are Samsung and LG (YES, LG!)

That I much prefer my LG DVD writer to my Samsung DVD Writer.

You were lucky with your T220.

24" T240

I wish I looked at some widescreen 24" LCDs before buying this thing. I gotta buy a bigger desk than I originally planned on or else I'll be like Gameman.

Dell 17" Monitor manufactured in 1999

I'll have it until the day it dies. Seriously, I've not seen an LCD that I thought was worth it enough to replace my sexy dell CRT.

Good to be in the club! Do we get juice and cookies? The Viewsonic club only had juice.

Hey GF, check this out:

Newegg.com - Hanns·G Hi-221DPB Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 Built in Speakers - LCD Monitors - $139.99 free shipping (in the US) it's a limited time offer on newegg

Hanns-G is actually a very good brand and is often overlooked by many.

Indeed. From what I've read Hanns-G is a decent mid-level brand.

I said the same thing about my Gateway VX700 (17" aperture grille CRT manufactured in late 1998, with a maximum of 1600x1200@66Hz). Then I got what I have now. There's a world's difference. If you're serious about sticking to CRT, and that one ever starts getting long in the tooth, look for an IBM P275, IBM P260, Dell P1130, or Dell P1110. All of them are about the same thing. If you can get any of these below $150, that's a steal (since shipping on them is high, so ~$100 for the monitor itself, plus the shipping). None are the vaunted Sony GDM-FW900, but they're about the pinnacle of CRTs. You'll never look back.
