The point was, at the current time, even basic OEMs' lowest end computers don't come with less than 2GB of RAM. If the common persons PC is coming with 2GB of RAM at the entry level, you better bet, whether we absolutely need it or not (who are we kidding, the standard is usually just a tad bit overkill since this is enthusiasts we're talking about), that most enthusiasts would consider the standard as 4GB. RAM is just so cheap that there's little reason not to (especially when many of us splurge on faster speed memory, when it's always been about amount, not speed!). I would consider 4GB the "standard", or at least the middle standard (since the standard is more of a spectrum at this point between 2GB and upcoming to 6GB and 8GB), due to the rate at which it the standard is increasing (thanks to low prices). Now the standard most enthusiast/modern basic PCs have right now is likely 2GB and 4GB, but even then, it's shifting more to 4GB. Things are even showing improvement with 4GB over 2GB. Overall, I'd call 4GB the standard now.

I remember 6 years ago when I bought my laptop.EVEN THEN my brother had 2 GB of RAM and some of my friends from the internet had already 4 GB of RAM.And I thought:"Nah 512 MB of RAM is enough for now.2 or 4 GB is still too expensive." I was just looking at the prices on the internet yesterday and they ARE lower then before, but it's not so big difference. The thing is that my brother needs to buy a piano which is 30000 kn (1 dollar=6 kn I think) Correctly it's a little bit more then 30000 kn.It wouldn't be a problem for me to spend a little money on RAM,but that damn piano is so expensive and my brother wants it for already 3 years.(And I need much more RAM already for 4 years xD). I will try to find a way to make my laptop to work as much as he can with that crapy 512 MB RAM.But yeah....I deffinetely need 4 GB. Man I can still hardly believe that 4 GB is the standard today.Soon it will be 6 and then 8 GB and people will need to switch to the 64-bit operating systems.Just one question.Exactly how does 64-bit operating system works comparing to the 32-bit operating system?
