share your Budget Gaming ideas

I am just shopping for ideas regarding a budget gaming build. The Core 2 Duo can be overclocked to run PCSX2. However, I think my PC-gaming will benefit more in the long run from 4-cores.

For the CPU, MoBo, GPU, and Ram, I currently have a budget of about $600. I do plan on overclocking, but I would be content to start off with the retail HSF. Whatever video card I start off with will probably be upgraded in two years. This PC will probably be my main gaming rig for a total of four years.

Please share you ideas on the components that are a good fit for my budget.

"budget" computers don't last 4 years.

And if you're going cheap, make sure you don't sacrifice on power supply.

You can get Phenom II x2 550. Its AM3 which is going to last long because it came out only a while ago.

As spyhop said don't cheap out on the PSU. It is a very common mistake made by people on a low budget . Feel free to ask any more questions.

You are living in the US. You must be knowing the site newegg.com buy from there.

The PSU was purchased several months ago when my existing system was having problems. Turns out the problem was caused by RAM going bad. So this is waiting on a new system: CORSAIR 650
