Question Geforce 2 GTS w/ a Celeron 1ghz

I'm planning to buy a Gforce 2 GTS 64mb soon but I hav a question to u ppl:

Does Gforce 2 GTSis compatible w/ my Celeron 1ghz? It will not have any bottleneck right? I mean, like last time, I simply bought the Riva tnt2 pci 32mb w/out knowing that my old celeron 300mhz will have bottleneck. Silly me But not to worry, my fren agreed to buy it hehehe!

My friend got a 32mb GTS with his new computer last summer, he got WinME with 1Ghz Pentium3 and 256 ram, and it got about a 3800 3DMark3001 score. I also got a 64mb GTS because I liked his computer, but me being anti-Intel, I got myself an AMD Athlon 1700, 512ram, and WinXP. I get around 4300 scores on 3DMark2001, probably would be higher if I didnt have WinXP. I think the 1ghz level is about right for a GTS, processors dont really bottleneck a video card that much, its the video card that will bottleneck you.

That's not quite true... processors can bottleneck video cards as much as video cards can bottleneck processors. Take, for example, a P2-266 with a GeForce3 Ti 500.

I doubt it'd bottleneck you as much as a P4 2.2ghz with a 2mb Trident card.

A 1Ghz Celeron + Geforce 2 GTS is a good match, so you shouldn't have any problems.

Wait a sec, I just noticed your specs you already have Geforce 2MX
You "could" upgrade to the GTS...but the performance gain is small, and not really worth the upgrade. If you want more bang for your buck, your better off upgrading to a Geforce 3 Ti 200. They are 64MB and are much more powerfull than a Geforce 2. Also your system will be able to handle it too.

Err, I thought Geforce 3 is for DDR m/boards only?
If Gforce 3 available for non-DDR m/boards like me who uses SDRAM m/boards, I may consider buying Gforce 3 tho. So, which one should I buy? I heard there lots of version of Gforce3. ti,Quadro,????? Which one u recommend me Liquid? Thanks!

Ok, I'll stick to Gforce 2mx for now.

no that's not true, as long as your computer's motherboard has an AGP slot you can use a Geforce 3.
I recommend getting a Geforce 3 Ti 200 because they are cheap and more powerfull than a Geforce4 MX.
