Hmm.. So it seems the higher performance Geforce4s is the NV25.. Time to start saving up money for that Geforce4 4600.. hehe.. $399!!

I just did too, but I don't feel like I'm missing out on a lot of things yet. Then again, all I do is just 2D gaming.

If prices of the GeForce 3 Ti 200 drop significantly then I might consider it. My GF2 is still pretty fast but it doesn't have pixel shaders, and I wanna see what those nature scenes in 3DMark2001 look like. The GF4 is just a faster version of the GF3 (no new features) and the only expectations I have of them are price drops of previous products.

ca-wrong!
The Ge4 has an added vertex shading unit.
I'm not buying a new GPU till the 5 comes out... in fact, I probs won't buy anything new for my pc for about a year or so

According to the article:

2 vertex shaders instead of 1 in the Geforce3
Lightning memory architechture II - Quad Cache
Improved Visibility subsytem - HSR
Acuview AA(anti aliasing) 4X and 4XS
And yes it's noticeably faster than the Geforce3's..
Check the benchmarks on the next gen games coming soon.. UT2!! Comparisons of Geforce3's against the New Geforce4's..

Quote from the Article:

We owe quite a bit to the late 3dfx, including some of the very first introductions to the world of true 3D gaming on our PCs. One thing that we most definitely have to "thank" 3dfx for is exposing us to anti-aliasing. After 3dfx demonstrated their VSA-100 architecture running current generation (at the time) games with FSAA enabled, we were spoiled for life.

That's how I am now too.. FSAA spoiled me.. hehe.. And the Geforce3 FSAA features has problems with epsxe.. Hopefully the Geforce4's wont..

I just can't believe NVidia made a great GF4 Ti, but such a poor GF4 MX. It doesn't even have pixel and vertex shader!!!

Damn! Now that my GF2 is dead I was willing to get a GF4MX but now I see that it's not worth it
The only problem is that the prices here in Brazil are WAAAAAY too high

GF4Ti: 535USD
GF3Ti: 303USD
GF4MX: 171USD

Never buy a graphics card. You will always loose, since the year after it´s cheaper, faster and/or obsolete.

Try to get an old one for free from someone who did not listen and buys a new graphics card

haha wrong move...I just bought my Geforce 3 Ti 200 a month ago... $81! and it plays everything it needs to...its a year old and its good enough for anything out for...well at least 1.5 years and I play many things that are new as well as things that are old or outdated...just dont waste money/time/power/old skool gaming!
