get the Xeon w3520 if you plan on overclocking, its guaranteed to be a D0 core and is binned for higher stress. the C0 stock still has awhile till it'll fully run out.

you can get these for the same price as the 920 D0 if you look hard enough ($289-328)

Also, get yourself a GTX 275 rather then the 260. It's not far off 285 performance.

you can shave off a bit on the PSU by dropping to 700w, which is more then enough.

3GB might seem like a lot, but 6GB would fair you better.

I was gonna rag on your case like I do with everybody, but now that I look at it, it's not hideous. GJ. Still wouldn't be my first choice, but you avoided the cliche ghastly window, lights, and molded plastic front panel. *thumbs up*

I hate those heavily modded cases waste of money just a pleasant light coming from the case like in Nzxt rogue and CM 690 delights me

Im also saving up for nvidia 's 300 series and a few more upgrades

and i dont want to have a heavy overclock just upto a little 3.5Ghz would be nice

I dunno; I can already run every game released on high. I don't see what your PC could possibly be able to do that mine can't.

Where do you live ?
I guess not in Mumbai, Palit GTX 260 is like Rs. 11300 (228 $) there.
TheITWares - Graphic Cards
If you can, I'll advice getting some stuff from Mumbai.

Mine is cheaper and more affordable; it gains in it's ability to sell more copies of itself.

Nice build. But if you gonna use XP/Vista/W7 64bit get 2gb+2gb of ram. as for the GFX card, Palit is an affordable and good Brand. I've heard that it comes with Overclocking tools.

Edit: But why u didn't take A Gigabyte Motherboard?, Asus is overpriced.
Btw, Good choice at getting LG Driver, I like their Optical Drivers. And how about the Monitor?:P.

Nice build, I'd go with Squall's advise as well, if possible of course.

3GB seems a bit on the low side for a build like this. It would be a shame to have to replace it for 6 in a year. I doubt having 6 modules of 1GB would be a solution.

Also, you do know that bragging about this stuff obliges you to join the NGEmu folding@home team

I was planning to join for a long long time

I think i can convince my parents to add 80$ to get the extra 3gb ram the build is already costing so much a lit more addition to the price tag and performance wouldn't be of any harm

Man i got to stop double posting

Asus pwns gigabyte boards hard in X58 and P45 chipset

they are worth the money

actually im on 1800$ with the monitor , keyboard and other stuff

the monitor is going to be a Dell UltraSharp 2208WFP 22"
