I just looked at the Antec 1200 and fell in love with it. Also I thought of getting a WD Black 1TB drive. To cut the costs I degraded the ram to 1333MHz.

I say get it (the HD). At the moment, it is (almost) the most economical HD out there in terms of price per GB.

According to the rates prevailing here at least:

500GB = Rs.12/GB
640GB = Rs.8.94/GB
750GB (Seagate) = Rs.9.7/GB
1TB = Rs.9

7200.12 1TB = fastest drive out. (in some cases even matching velociraptor)

But no 7200.12 here only 7200.11.

I'd just have to stick to WD black then.

Well if you have some more money to blow then you could throw RPM to the wind and get a nice shiny 128GB SSD in addition to the 1TB WD

Correct me if I'm wrong, but SSDs/flash memory has/have a finite number of reads/writes. Once you go past that, bye bye data. Right?

1) Too slow
2) Too noisy
3) Only 9.4GB (if you use dual-layer that is, a 2TB collection would take up masses of space)
4) May become unreadable after a few months of being left idle.
5) DVD-rewritables are failz0r! Nuff said!

1. Slow is relative.
2. Agreed. X_X;
3. Psh, back in my day we only had 1.44MB Floppies. ...and 600MB CDs.
4. Depends on how they're stored and taken care of.
5. **** DVD-RW. Use DVD-R.

4. I assume they wouldn't survive long in the searing heat here.
5. lolwut? Use a new DVD every time you wanna store new data? Sounds rather cumbersome and expensive don't you think?

Pen drives people use them. They are the best offer lots of space and are usually fast. No noise and data can be added and deleted all the time. They also last long. Minne has a 10 year warranty.
