Just a small staff note to the regular members: Please keep it on topic, there's no point in saying he should've made a new thread in the PCSX2 section. He did the right thing by using the search function and has a valid resurrection reason. So please, help him out instead ![]() Dee_death: Sorry but I'm not experienced enough with PCSX2 to give you an idea about why it's so slow. Hope you'll find a solution here.

Use GSdx ssse3 plugin and enable NATIVE option in it Enable speed hacks and don't forget to read the guide to configure pcsx2 at pcsx2.net |

And to top it off, you're using a HD4850, which has been reported to offload quite an amount of processing load to the CPU. How much it does is dependent on the game, and I didn't test Tekken 5, but I can quite say that even with a quad-core processor, it's noticeably slower than any nVidia card past the 9600GT when it comes to PCSX2. Try updating to the latest Catalyst drivers and see if that helps.

As far as tekken5 is concerned the VU cycle stealing hack and the idle loop hack make the game run at near to full speed at 2.3GHz and if the cpu is overclocked at 2.7GHz the speed gets to full speed. This is the result on AMD cpu while on windows 7 DX10 platform. |

The decision to merge VU Skip and Frameskip together sounds a bit weird, though?

He's personally tested it, and was the one to discover it (so I'm not sure why he says "it's been reported"). The ATi Radeon HD 4xx0 series cards (and the HD 3xx0 series cards, but to a lesser extent, I think?) offload a bit of work to the CPU, and since PCSX2 needs the most of two cores, with one of those cards paired with a dual core CPU, speed suffers quite badly in some games. Since PCSX2 can't utilize quad core CPUs (yet, and when it does, it probably won't be by too much), users who've had these cards with quad core CPUs didn't get affected by the speed drop, since the card's work was offloaded to one core, leaving two (three) free for PCSX2. However, you're behind the times runawayprisoner. During your absence, Squall-Leonhart once claimed that that's been fixed via ATi's drivers, and quite a bit after that, this showed up. The ATI bug has been fixed! It'd be interesting if you could test this and see if it's truly so, but many ATi users have claimed speed gains.

Thanks for correcting me, Lord Zedeck. And even though I tested it, I only did so for one game. Other users have reported it way before I even conducted the test, so I'd just say that it was "reported" to be on the safe side. Now if the new revision of gsdx fixed that, it would be interesting to know which change caused the fix to happen. Did Gabest say anything?
