meh...see yall in 10 min then
and another crash....and the result would have been unreliable on this one anyways as it was an under 30 second bootup...not the bad one which takes like 3 minutes. So...what now? Anyways I am off to bed...feel free to leave other suggestions. I just find it so strange that it's only every 3rd or 4th bootup which take like 3 minutes.

which softs do you have to load on startup?
which firewall, antivirus and security softs in particular, as a side note?

How would a security app be causing bootup issues cuz they only load at start-up don't they?
I have a ton of stuff...my startup is quite long...I am running 73 processes atm and only my browser is open extra...so whilst that does mean startup will take quite a while usually 3-4 minutes till the final app has loaded....that's not related to me occasionaly getting a 3-4 minute bootup on top of that as opposed to the usual 30 second one though is it? Anyways secruity apps, are AVG 7.5. Spybot S+D, Avast! (which replaced AntiVir Classic), PCtools Firewall Plus and PCtools Threatfire...however once again I don't see how that is linked to an occasionaly really long bootup time...if it was the norm then yes I could see it...but it's not. And yes Squall I know my strange PC problems provide great entertainment. Also telling me to all that is well and good...but...how?

Ok my problem is nowhere near as bad.....it's more of an inconvenience than a problem for me.
I just find it strange and I am curious what's up and a little worried that it could be the Processor.

Boot taking 10 minutes is either
Unloadable Boot Device (Virtual Drives, Corrupted SATA/PATA Drivers) Corrupted System Hive (Will likely need a fresh install) The boot drivers are so fragmented your computer thinks itself a virus (defrag the frickin boot files) The pagefile, or memory itself is generating corruption. The most unlikely but very possible is a ****ty power supply which isn't providing enough power to maintain full rotation.

thanks for the answers
i more suspicious to the memory, since i change from 512 mb to 2 gb, it starting acting weird i have 3 time reinstall my windows , and it still like that btw, i heard my friend who take college at IT division said that we can skip or erase windows boot, so from the bios(the screen we press del to setup) , we can directly go to desktop ( with consequency , it cannot use before it load some startup) now my question is 1. is this can be ? 2. if yes, then can it crash any of the computer components ? cos , i very scare my comp's components broke/crash, as it have half of my life on it ^^ thanks

Heh....my PC is suddenly behaving itself...the last boots were all perfect...
I have since also done a defrag and cleaned and defragged the registry aswell so hopefully things will be normal from now on...and now that I have said this the next boot will probably take 5+ minutes XD

JV16 powertools is cool, when used by advanced users (but then again extensive reg manipulation should be performed only by advanced users anyway)

You know what I think of that paticular tool Rikki.....
Anyways I used my old premium version of Registry First Aid. It's about time I purchase a new licence... had another of those strange long boots though...and my PC even froze at post....guess I can't get past doing a memtest...what sort of medium should I use for the boot disc? CD right? Age is starting to show on this old reliable thing by the sounds of things....
