Are Omegadrivers compatible with my laptop's card?

I have an ATI Radeon Xpress Mobility 200 series. Are they compatible with my card?.

Short answer: yes
Long answer: may not improve performance at all. Read the release notes to see if your device is supported. Some driver versions abandon mobile GPUs altogether.

Good for PCSX2: overclock, overclock, and even more overclock.

A lot of mobile GPUs usually go through their manufacturers for the drivers....which is bull and annoying to work around sometimes

Wait. I think.... No....

It's because the Omega Drivers is for desktops. You need the Mobility Radeon drivers. Or at least that's what happened when I reinstalled by friend's laptop.

yeah most notebooks are incompatible with desktop drivers, usually your manufacturer provides their own drivers or specific driver version that will work for the notebook, either check their site or check ATI's.

But I thought the person who made Omegadrivers said the ATI Omegadrivers are now compatible with laptops.

they might be but im not 100% sure, i think what is more likely is that they have made omega drivers that are specifically for laptops, basically mobile versions of their desktop counterparts. they are pretty much the same thing only the mobile versions would have special features and design in order to accommodate a laptop better. my 7900's for example are pretty much the same as the desktop 7900 gs however the drivers for them, unlike the desktop driver versions, have power-saving/control settings and temperature monitoring that are ideal for using with laptops in addition to the regular stuff. if there are omega drivers that can be used with a laptop, they are probably modified versions of the ones for a desktop (so while they are similar, they are not the same). so unless specifically stated that they work either way by whoever made the drivers, dont use desktop versions on a laptop.
