50GB I need to transfer

Ok heres my problem, I got 50GB of stuff on my main pc's HDD that i want to transfer over to my old secondary pc. I used to have my 2nd pc's HDD installed on my main as an extra but i moved it over to my old pc and installed XP on it. I want to know if i could take that 2nd HDD, hook it back up to my main pc, and move over the files and then put it back in my 2nd pc. would i be able to move files on to it like i did when i was using it as an extra?

If you have a local network or a router, you could just enable file sharing between these 2, and copy your stuff directly. When done, just disable sharing again, if you dont like it continually enabled.

just hook it up on the same motherboard it's gonna be faster than configuring and sending them via network.. it shouldn't take more than 3 minutes to do so and start transfering files..

Like Rikki said, just share the folder over your network. It's the simplest way.

the simplest!! heh, connecting HD to motherboard is a rocket science huh.. jee.

for me both methods okay, but I find configuring network is harder if he doesn't have the tools like router, cables or wireless adapters.. and besides it takes longer to run between both machines to setup the network..

anyhoo, if both machines contains wiresless adapter you can make a network between both of 'em "make ad-hoc network" if u use XP you will have headache finding that check box to tick it -the ad hoc option-.. if using vista it's just double click..

by using ad hoc networking you eliminate the need for a router/hub and both machines runs peer 2 peer, no server or client.. and you can enjoy network gaming..
