Unhappy Hardware problem

Yesterday i was playing the game Infernal, got stuck and decided to play some Cod4 instead.
It took too much time to load, then the res changed to 640x480 16 color, and a box saying the nv4 something had crash, and i had to reboot to fix. After i clicked ok it frooze. I reboot the pc, got into windows, infernal and audiosurf ran fine, but again cod4 frooze the pc.

After another reboot, i decided to play cs:source. All fine, no gfx errors nor any other problems.

Today i turn the pc up just fine, was just reading my mail. My cousing came in and asked to he how audiosurf was. The game launched fine, but when it got ingame, the performance was really low. Then the game itself asked if i wanted to lower the details for better performance. After i clicked, it changed res again, all black this time and pc frooze again.

After i hit the reboot button on the case, the pc wouldnt boot anymore, no beeps, just black screen.

Did my gfx card just died? Tomorrow ill take it off, clean the whole pc and try it again... wish me luck... if not ill have to send the card to RMA.

Try reinstalling your drivers. Judging by the name of the crash I'm guessing its something driver related. Also, if that doesn't get rid of the problem, try running a system restore to before you changed anything important. Worst case scenario, a format should do the trick.

I highly doubt there will be the need to RMA it, dont worry.

Could be the videocard. Take it out just to be sure its not more and try powering up the system.

Your computer should boot without one. See if it at least gives the beep codes signalling a videoadapter error.

Well i really hope its not hardware. Today i left the no-break on the whole morning, but with the pc off. And i also put inside the case some product that takes off the air humidity.

The pc boot just fine. But i havent ran any 3d stuff yet. Im really thinking of formating.

I just checked the pc with the case open, all fans are fine, no problem with bad capacitors. And the temps are normal too. This really might be some driver related issue.

Before i installed the gf 8600gt, i used the onboard one, gf 6100. Then i removed the drivers and installed new ones.
Also when i was removing ubuntu here, instead of only fixing the MBR, i did a windows restore installation. I think this might have be the cause.

Thx for the support guys, i was really sad last night, almost couldnt sleep, as sending the card to RMA would take sometime, since i bought it from other state than mine.

Ill format it tomorrow and report here how things went.

Midnight update: Just ran CS:Source again for about 2 hours, not a single glitch or drop on fps.
This really looks like a driver issue. A gfx card wouldnt bug on a game and do flawless on other, would it?
