maybe you'll find a killer deal on a 4870x2 or 9900gtx

Any predictions on whether Nvidia should be worried with this jump in performance?

It'd be nice to have ATI do better than nvidia this time around. So it can claw back some of the market share.

nvidia can easily match it,
the 9900gtx should be better (prediction)
and they can refresh the 9900gtx to 55nm and up the clocks

^= Using THAT calculator, I can confirm that all of my 3DMark06 scores are calculated correctly (almost, at least)... and if it should apply to the same case, the scores from that bench should have been...

I don't doubt that the HD 4870 is fake. I just doubt that the score is fake.

If it's true that the thing can only reach 15000 on that AMD processor... then it's only about 1500 points faster than an overclocked 8800GTS G92.

If that should be the 3DMark06 results... hmm... don't need to tell you the real results, do I?

Madness? This is ATI!!!

Anyway if the card has 480 stream processors i expect 50% better performance from the previous generation from that fact alone. Including in the equation higher clocks and better architecture, anything more than 75% increase over previous best i think is completely out of the question.

But I've seen way too many ATI cards with high 3DMark06 scores and low gaming performance... so I'll be skeptical. I wouldn't have IF that 3DMark06 screen wasn't faked.

Someone must have glued a 18000 score in there to save ATI's face.

and i've seen alot of people have problems with ATI cards an PCSX2 running GSdx.
i wouldn't get an ATI card unless they release a card that totally pwns nVidia's top card at the time.
