PSP problem...(56k Warning)

Well, i think its in the right thread(it is hardware so..) anyway, my brother had a psp that he got for free. All fine and good. But the screen was cracked(reason he got for free) and he bought a new screen off ebay. was pretty expensive too...But the problem. He was about to put it all back together when he was trying to get that little cable(in picture) back on, he broke 2 of the 4 of the pins off!! Now i was wondering if there was a way to fix this. If thee is a way for me not too soder(i dont think i can do anything this small or delicate...) Or if i can like glue some pins to the cable to attach? i dont know...(sorry for pics so large, manage attachments wasnt working. If mod. wants to fix please do)

You know... the only way to fix something like that is to solder. Or maybe you can magically stick them together... and still preserve their integrity as a solid metal piece? Because if they (the piece that still stays in the machine and the broken piece) are not a solid piece, electronic won't be able to transfer... and... bam.

Sorry if that came off that mean... but really, this is beyond... non-soldering solutions. Might still work if you take off the cover and plug the plug directly into the pins... but I'm not sure how much longer you can have the pins at after you pull that pin cover off.

Is there a way too hook the backlight up straight to battery? I remember hearing something about that.

Are you building a completely new PSP? But anyway... soldering that joint is... not that complicated... but it'll require superhuman patience and delicacy.

You know what? Since you seem stuck, I'll help you out this like this. Hmm... stick four iron pins into the plug, melt the four sticks in the cover... and then... just plug the plug in! Don't let the melted metal get too close to each other, though.

You'd probably be better off shopping for a new pin header, removing the broken one, and soldering the new one in. It would be stronger, too. Check digi-key or similar places for parts like that.

Well i found a solution to the problem. My friend has a broken psp, she cracked the screen like the one i got, but hers is still together and working, I just need my brother to give me the screen from mine(he moved and took it with him, so i have the broken psp with no screen) But i can go and put it in, and have two batteries from my other psp and i may mod it, put some leds in the L+R buttons, and put some emulators on it, since firmware hasnt been updated in forever...Man i got big plans, too bad i dont have any games or memory cards for that fact steal some from my friend i guess... But yeah im getting it in like a week, when i go back to school(spring break)
