Range of processor speed ranked as?

What is the range of dual core processor speed do you guys rate as low end, mid range, high end?

Intel :

Budget : E2000 (Pentium Dual Core) series
Mid range : E4000 series
High range : E6000 series
Enthusiast : E8000 and Core2Quad series in general.

AMD :

Budget : Athlon 64 Single core / Athlon 64 X2 3600 to 4200
Mid range : Athlon 64 4400 to 5000
High range : Athlon 64 X2 5000 Black Edition / A64 X2 5200 to 6400 / Phenom B2 series
Enthusiast : Phenom B3 stepping

for intel, the 6 series will be soon obsolete
the 8 series has lower retail and faster speed

considering this, I would put the e7200 as low, e8200 as mid and e8500 as high end

but the e8400 is the sweet spot for dual core and the q9450 for quad core

Businessman's and casual user's ranks:

Gamer's ranks:

Enthusiast: Q9xxx

Extreme user's ranks:

My CPU can clock above 4Ghz with no prob XD, but I'm still waiting on my case and other stuff to arrive =_=

E2xxx = low
E4xxx,E6xxx = mid
E8xxx, Q6xxx = nid-high
Q8xxx = high
QXxxx = Zealous/intensive work
Dual Xeon = Professional work (ranges from low to ultra high again, with price from $400 to $4000 for two CPUs lol)

Actually, I hope you won't have to come up here to ask about that. Mmm... there's a reason why I didn't get the QX9650, although I can get one for $500.

4.0 Ghz is average for it (Alienware even sells factory OC ones @ 4.0Ghz)
You can even hit 4.5 on air

I know 4.0GHz is average. But then... wouldn't it be better to get a Q9450... and pour that extra $500 towards an even better graphics card, sir?

And anyway, back on topic: 4GHz dual-core is normal now. Actually, 4.2GHz is becoming quite normal as well... assuming you have the cooling for it.

Or install the Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II over your NB. I swear that after you do that, you won't have to worry about temps anymore.
