Errr, I didn't even know you can Xfire integrated and an actual GPU.... Their integrated Xfire just means you can have 2 different ATI cards run in Xfire.

Actually, you can do integrated x actual GPU now... with AMD's freak: 780G. But alas, it still doesn't save the fact that AMD CPUs are greatly outperformed.

And to answer the OP: yes, it works in XP.

What does the CPU have to do with this topic ?

But anyways, integrated + actual GPU ? Won't that hinder the performance?

Just telling you AMD's ploy. They plan to dominate the low-end graphics market with that hybrid CF ploy.

And... it doesn't hinder performance. At least I can praise them for making hybrid CF possible without any major performance impact. In fact, it gives quite a performance boost.

ryu_joko :

Nope. Hybrid Crossfire with currently NOT work with 3850's or 3870's. Only the 3450 and 3650 I think.

.... And Hybrid Crossfire only work with the 780G motherboards.

it's called crossfire x and all 3 series cards are CF-X compatible
it works on p35 motherboards too and 3870+3850 has been benchmarked already

it's also possible to have a 3870x2 with a 3870 and 3850

benchmarks are comparison numbers in games between cards that are used in reviews

so yes, there are 3870+3850 reviews

p35 is a chipset on motherboards

Actually, Hybrid Crossfire and Crossfire X are different things. (LOL at confusing names.)

Like you said, Crossfire X allows you to crossfire different video cards on the same hundred model numbers. (Like 3850 and 3870 like you said.)

However, you cannot Crossfire for example a Radeon 3650 and 3870. Because their hundred model numbers are different.

And so, Crossfiring :P different models on differing hundred model is called Hybrid Crossfire.

All correct so far, StriderVM. I'd just like to add that Hybrid SLI is also coming... although nVidia has released jack about SLI X. I doubt they ever want to do that at all.
