5 Speaker System, 2 Speakers Output Sound

Hello I have Manhattan Speakers Model No:160360, unfortunately I've tried everything to allow the speakers to output from the main head speaker and the other 5 speakers but it only outputs from two and not from the main head speaker. I have tried everything although I'm not sure if I need more cables etc.

Products Main » Peripherals » Audio » Speakers » 160360

www.copaparts.com/prod_pubs/160360_datasheet.pdf (PDF File)

Here are some links of the speakers, unfortunately with two speakers only working I can't embrace the full potential of sound.

These are my specs

AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6400+ 3.24 GHZ
4 Gb Ram
Vista Ultimate 64 Bit
XFX Nvidia 8600 GTS
and
Nvidia Onboard GF 6100
and
Audigy 7.1 Se Sound Card
+
Win TV-HVR 1100
700W PSU
Two 20" Monitors
Surround Speakers

Are you sure it is plugged in the correct port? (try them all if the answer to my below question is yes)

Have you set your sound output to 5.1 ?

Check

5.1/7.1 is only achieved from dvdplayback and games, for OS specific 5.1/7.1 you need to enable CMS3D or CMSS3D or some crap like that.

What?

Sound/music should also play though the 5 speakers too.

Have you configured your speaker settings to 5.1 using the CP sound manager with Vista? Are you connecting your speaker jacks correctly? You can also use the sound manager to test for sound from each speaker.

Ok I tried everthing you said it made the audio clearer but nothing else.

I already set it to 5.1, I just enabled CMS3D and I tried all audio outputs no difference.
Although I did notice that when I tried some ports it stopped the sound from one of my two working speakers.

But I do have the head speaker working which controls the volume control.

I fiddled with the audio plugs after and before the settings only the head and 2 speakers work.

I did that five feet, eveytime I click a different speaker it plays from exactly the same speaker. Its configured to 5.1 on vista and my sound card.

Next question, Do the speakers all connect to the subwoofer then have 1 connection from the subwoofer to the pc?

If so are the speakers in the right ports on the subwoofer. ?

(not accusing you of being an idiot or anything, I have plugged stuff in wrongly before too )

I know I'm not worried about that just want it to work.

All are in the colour coded ports on the five ports labelled output.

One wire with one side with 2 extensions is plugged according colour coded to stereo and another to the green port on my sound card.

Still no result.

Try the onboard sound port. (I did when getting mine to work) If it works we can take it from there.

Tell me what happens

Should I install the onboard drivers because I dont think their installed.

Anyway I've done it when their not installed and no sound output.

Oh to make this less confusing i'm using the sound blaster 7.1 sound card for sound.

Although i've used the onboard sound before with the same problem only 2 speakers working.

Only if you want to. Would be interesting to see the outcome.

I did when mine didn't work via the sound card and they did using the onboard.

Thats the only reason I brought it up really.

Out of interest, what app/program are you using to test the output?

Do you have a digital camera? Take a picture of your connections on the back of your computer to your sound card and also a picture of your connections to your control speaker box.

How many input speaker cables do you having going to your speaker control box?

Try putting this in your system 32 folder (c://windows/system32)

ftp://ftp.sanguine.net/pub/sahughes/...n/Asushwio.dll

Damn mate, those screenshots are in such bad resolution, it's just a pixalted mess

I can't see it clear enough to help (in that respect).

I take it you have tried rebooting your system, windows update etc (finds updated sound card drivers sometimes).

Tried with different programs etc (for sound output).

Hard to tell still whether its connection related or a software issue. Maybe you could post up some higher resolution (clearer) pictures for us?

Edit : just went to your original link and saw screens. Can you post up a screen of just the back of your pc?

According to the manual you need 3 connections going into your sound card have you got 3 connected?

That might be an issue with Vista 64bit having an issue loading a 32 bit system extension. Try loading that disk in another system(winXp/VSTA 32bit) and see if it loads correctly.
