wasn't it replaced by EAX effect in X-FI ?
I'm currently very interesting in Youp-PAX since both the cd driver and web driver are suck.

But how can such an important item not be in the drivers for X-Fi's? (I know what it looks like....I do have it afterall in my drivers from my fairly new Sound Blaster Audigy Value (which has Vista aswell as XP64 support)....

I love the way this card can simulate surround sound.

The EAX console has all the effects, but not the surround mixer .... although I suppose windows has it's own sound controls built in to that effect...

Thanks, I was just interested about the location of their servers. I found the link in your sig already, I've also been familiar with the site for some time now because they provide good apps and all

Where did you go to check that? Cuz creativeautoupdate update says I am using Audigy drivers 1.4.77 or something like that (too lazy to go back and check )

Also my card is detected fine by everything it came bundeled with and the updates I have since made.
Seems my card is too basic for them to break support XD

Hmm ok, I am fine there aswell

SB Audigy
Driver Date - 6/13/2007
Driver version - 5.12.1.514

As I said seems it's too basic for them to break support on my card.

We have read the strong feedback about Creative's forum post regarding driver development by Daniel_k and other outside parties. Creative's message posted on our behalf by our Company spokesperson tried to address our concern about the improper distribution of certain software which is the property of other companies. However, we did not make it as clear as we would have liked that we do support driver development by independent third parties. The huge task of developing driver updates to accommodate the many changes in the Vista operating system and the extensive testing required, including the lengthy Vista certification requirements for audio, makes it very difficult for Creative to develop updates for all past products. Outside developers have been very helpful to Creative and our customers by developing updates for many of our Sound Blaster products, and we do support and appreciate these efforts. This however does not extend to the unauthorized distribution of other companies' property. We hope to work out a mutually agreeable method for working with Daniel_k in supporting his efforts in driver development. Going forward, we are committed to doing a better job of working more closely with third parties to support their development for our products and our customers.
A message from Creative to the Sound Blaster forum participants - Sound Blaster - Creative Labs

For the Live and the Audigy series, just use KXProject drivers. Seriously, its 10x more featurefull and way less buggy.

What a hypocrite statement, their drivers have been a disaster for years, even way before Vista came into the picture, and now this is the best they can come up with? Pathetic.

Like I said before...the soundcard Market is gradually getting smaller, and Creative is getting more and more paranoid..
