If you really want to see it, just google it for a graph compared to other cards. My GPU is a hungry beast. Though that's only when it's on load, idle wise, it's relatively the same as other cards in the same performance category.

And burncloud, don't worry about that new laser CPU technology, it won't be out for at least another decade guaranteed (speaking in terms for the average consumer). We'll still all be running on silicon processors for a good while

Lol.

So operating systems. Vista vs whatever the hell (OS X, i guess). And 64bit vs 32bit. Whats the importance as far as gaming, emulation, and basic performance is concerned?

*is it even possible to 'build' a mac?

um os x is mac only. if your going vista, get the 64 bit Ultimate edition. its the most stable

xp is still the best all around though.

youll need a 64 bit os to make use of four gigs of ram...32bit on recognizes 3.5 gb ram...

If DX10 supported games are what you want, Vista Premium or Ultimate is what you want. If not, XP is still king for PC gaming performance.

A Q9450 for $370, a decent mobo for $200, a gaming GPU for $200, 500W or 750W PSU for $150, a chase for $150, and spend the rest on what you want :]
(you can recycle your old sound card and screen/keyboard/mouse too )
mine costs so much is due to that damned workstation GPU =_=

I'm assuming, having to do with pcsx2, the cpu is the bottleneck?

This website rocks in value and specifications for computers, better yet you can find a really great PC and for a fee get custom components built into it.

I like this website, there was another website which had pimped out components and water cooling fans in their PC's.

But still takes away the fun and even yet more value in building a PC by yourself.

DinoPC.com
