Anyone own Radioshack 26-304, 26-729 PSX-USB?

I am looking into both of these 2 adapters for use with the psx 1/2 dual shock controllers, i have finally found them after a couple of weeks of searching, 1 store has 1 26-304, and another shack has 1 left of the 26-729, and since i want to be able to use 2 controllers i have no choice but to get 1 of each. Before i do, i have a few questions about these adapters. Googling did no good, as far as i was able to come up with, do any of you have a pic of the game control panel properties for these adapters? The reason I ask is because, some of the games i'll be using the psx pads for only let you use the "joystick" for movement and not the digital pad, sucks to be using an analog mini joystick for movement in a fighting game and not being able to configure the game for digital "hatswitch" movement. I'd rather not have to use xpadder or similar for digital movement. From what i have read these psx/usb adapters allow the use of the "analog" mode found on psx 1/2 game pads, I was hoping that I would be able to use the digital mode for fighting games and the "analog mode" for emus, fps's etc.. Since the sony brand psx pads are readily available and are considered to be the best all around game pad than i'd rather go this route if i can, since my firestorm dual analog has quit after 5 years of operation. They are hard to find nowadays. (but they had the switch built in that allowed digital mode x/y axis in pc fighting games, and did not require any additional drivers for this function, was hoping the psx-usb adapters worked the same way, digital mode on the fly.. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

My Windows XP *using SP2* immediately loaded the drivers for the 26-304 PSX-USB adaptor and it works fine. I have a 2 PSX to USB adap[tor but I misplaced it, so I had to go to my "junk" drawer for a spare PSX to USB adaptor, yes I keep a few extra in case one breaks, or goes missing...

Great paratech! was hoping it was recognized as a hid device and did not need drivers (but as i understand for rumble to work you will need drivers). Paratech in the windows control panel, can or does the x/y axis map to the d-pad if you need it to? When analog is selected on the controller, does the x/y axis map to the analog joystics? The reason i ask is because before i go the adapter route i would like to know if the x/y axis can be mapped to the directional pad as opposed to the analog joysticks. Since i have a fighting game that when a joystick is enabled the movement of the characters is mapped to the x/y axis of the joystick, gamepad etc...,(which sucks a!@) unless the joystick, gamepad etc.. can utilize a digital x/y(the game btw is mortal kombat 4 for the pc, do not have a machine powerful enough yet for mame mk4 emulation). If the ps1/ps2 controller can be mapped to digital x/y axis in windows without any extra drivers than all would be good. My thrustmaster firestorm dual power can be put in digital x/y axis mode just from a press of a switch, but these are hard to find and i prefer the ps1/2 controllers to any pc gamepad anyday as ps1/2 controllers are easier to find. Thanks for any info.

When I was using it, I had the Analog turned off if I wanted to use the DPad and Turned it on if I wanted to use the sticks. When the analog is turned on the Dpad operates as a "hat" but when it is off it operates as the "joystick"...

I stopped using it as I found my 2 in 1 adaptor and Taito Legends didn't like the adaptor *the Radio Shack one*...

That was the only game I had trouble with and I have no clue why.

I haven't installed many games on my PC yet and apart from emulation I haven't needed to use the controllers...

Thanks paratech, this is the info i was searching for! I called about every radioshack in the state and luckily i found one, that had 1 left. It looks like i'll be going the radioshack usb adapter route after all. Especially since how easy it is to find ps1/2 controllers. I waxed out my firestorm dual power left joystick after to much n64 emu.
