A Little Question About Buying New PC.
Ok, so I'm going to buy a new PC since mine is only good enough for errrrr...I don't even know what is it even good for, anymore.
I'm planing to wait for "Mass Effect" PC hitting the store shelves first. So should I wait for some new hardware coming out? And what's the best choice among NVidia cards in terms quality-per-dollar-per-time-till-next-upgrade ? ![]() I'm really sorry for coming out of nowhere and asking such a weird questions. It's just that I'm a complete noob when it comes down to hardware

9600GT would suffice. It really depends on your budget though

Well, I suppose it depends alot on your budget. Many cheap graphics cards will play Mass Effect, but not that many will be able to play it on high detail. So its all a matter of expectations and cash flow. Bit more information on those would probably give you a card more suited to your wants.

Well, I can't really boast with a huge budget, but I do want to buy something that can still be efficient after a year or so. Heh! I've finished The Witcher on my nvidia 6600GT. After that, I don't want to play ANYTHING on low graphics!(I slept well during map/save loading, on the bright side, though)

Then go with the 8800GT, and god blesseth you. On second thought, if you want something cooler, quieter, and totally newer, try the 9600GT. The performance loss is not that great anyway... and you can always overclock the card for close-to-8800GTS performance.

You are welcome.
To be honest, I have a 8800GTS G92 card myself... and I'm still preferring my 9600GT over that card.

Nah, the 9600GT sits gracefully at stock. It's just that cute.
