Umm... no it wouldn't because everytime Intel use a new process technology to make theirs next generation of CPUs, the cost of manufacturing will be lower. Intel itself also said that.

Yeah, but do you think those money hungry devils are actually gonna pass the savings on to us????? Just out of the "goodness of their hearts"????

I don't think so.....

If anything the cost will double....

You know like with the regular Core2 Duo's versus the "Black Box" editions....

In THAT case it appears to have QUADRUPLED....

and then some.....

You are right Intel is a merciless pocket burning devil

They charge insane prices on 32nm just cause its a new tech but the real price of making it would be 1/100 of what they are charging and its the same case with every thing you buy

Here is an example my sis really liked a shoe somewhere and bought it for like Rs.1500 and she went to another city and saw the same shoe for Rs.50 can you believe that and that i same case with almost every shoe she buys
Shop owners buy a thing from somewhere and sell it at there shop for 20 times more the price ITS REALLY REALLY ANNOYING

Suffice to say, when there's a profit to be made, especially a NEW one like with Bloomfield and Black Box Editions etc they will make it....

They have the Phenom 2 but it hardly compares to Intel's Black Box Edition... not even close.... And they have the nerve to give it the same naming as the Core i7....(920 and 940) That'll be the day....

I think a gigantic lawsuit should have ensued ...but then there'd be no price control!!!!!!! It's tantamount to naming the Queen Victoria "The Titanic"...

Ok, maybe not that bad, but yu get the idea...

Yeah, I've seen it and I'll admit Phenom 2 is setting records, but it's no Core i7 Nahelem/Bloomfield....

Core i7 itself is nothing to shout home about though compared to the Yorkfields.

That's right, they broke Moore's law with this half-assed attempt at a "new" processor....They just used the same technology and added some imaginary threads....and of course jacked the price up accordingly....

On the bright side of the coin, it's still a damn sight faster than any Athlon or Phenom......

At least that's what I hear.....

Wrong.

In real world scenario's the Phenom 2 is about 70% the peformance of an i7, the i7's real performance comes in when its memory operation based, which is when the Tri channel, DDR3 comes into play.

You mean it's full of features useless to 90% of the owners. The i7's are really starting to resemble the Pentium IVs in a way... Big, bulky, high clock speed, extremely hot and expensive as hell.

The Phenom IIs are nice. Value wise they can match and usually beat Intel. I've already built a Phenom II system myself for a friend and I gave a it a whirl. Definitely shows that AMD is still in the game.
