AutoHotkey-Problem
Hello everyone,
first of, I admittedly only spent 2 hours browsing through the board before making this thread. I very well might have missed something concerning my question. In that case, just post down the link to that thread/post and close this one. Anyway, on my issue: I am running FFVIII on the ePSXe with no problems at all. Now, I want to use a procedure in the game which allows me to gain in-game-currency at a very fast rate, and requires nothing but a lot of clicking through the shops and menus of the game. And by "a lot" I mean well.. a lot. In short: Shortening the procedure or getting my PC to do it would be great. Now, I read about the windows-version of ePSXe not supporting different plugins for pads, so emulating a real programmable pad (I heard that there are some of them around) is out of the question (I COULD try out other emulators and stuff, I know, but I'm really asking more out of interesst than out of necessity, and I'd rather find out about my question than transferring my memory-card over to another emulator etc.). I instead wanted to try something else: Using AutoHotkeys for the purpose of programming the necessary sequence. Basically, from what I gathered, the tool lets you assign keys on your keyboard to perform a number of different actions involving pressing other keys (hence the name "hotkey", doh). Now, I've played around with the thing for a few days already and like it, but I am not exactly an expert on it. Still, I tried out the sequence I wanted to input in the game in Notepad, and it worked just fine (note that I only want to use simple keyboard-comands, since I'm using only the keyboard to emulate the pad. So, a combination like "right-up-up-up" would only need "f-e-e-e" to be pressed) Thing is: No matter what I try, whatever delay I put in between the inputs, or even if I try to just input one single button-push via Hotkey, ePSXe just wont accept it. Nothing. Everywhere else, the script works just fine. But it is as if the emulator is a blind spot. It just doesn't take any non-direct input. Does anyone have a problem at least closely resembling this, or - even better- a solution to it? Like a different hotkey-tool able to provide the necessary command? A workarround within the tool to get ePSXe to accept it? Any help would be great. PS: Sorry for a) my english b) the length of the post. Bad habit, I guess. |
